Russell's Practice/Improvisation Tips:

1. Expand On Melodic Ideas (i.e 1, 2, 5, 7)
a. Changing the order of notes
b. Playing patterns on various scale tones
c. Playing patterns on symmetrical scales

2. Use Theory/Math/Your Intellect to expand what you hear.

3. When practicing exercises/technique, make music with it instead of playing dry exercises that you are disconnected with.
